there is a construction zone up the street from my office. The road is two lanes that shift over and back to allow for a construction l oading zone. I’m driving in the left lane heading south (down in the map) . The guy in the explorer next to me (right lane) follows the shift to the left and then more or less continues straight instea d of shifting back left. I beep at him and he flips me off. when the road straightens back out he intentional swerves at me. Well fuck you. he rolls down his window and says its a tight road so if he wants to swerve into my lane hes going to. HOLY SHIT. get off the road dude, you can;t drive.

It’s a tight road for the both of you. Swing back at him. If his logic holds, yours will too.

This happens to me all the time in lane-shift construction zones. I’ve gotten to the point where I just don’t stay next to anybody if i can help it.

I feel your pain. I have to deal with a similar p roblem caused by construction . There are four lanes here, the left two bei ng blocked by construction. Dumbasses park in the right lane so they can run into the restaurant or one of the stores here, even though it’s clearly marked as No Parking after 4:00. That turns this four-lane road, a major connector over to two interstates, into a one-lane nightmare every afternoon. People trying to negotiate this street are immediately switched into Not Nice mode.

Yeesh, that guy ha s no business being behind the wheel of an automobile.

BTW, aren’t those temporary lane shifts usually painted with SOLID lines so that people know not to change lanes until the road is straight again?

Yes, but I don’t think anybody knows what the different types of lane markings mean anymore. I see tons of drivers who pass on solid lines, or tailgate and refuse to pass on broken lines.
